LED vs. Microcurrent: Which Facial Add-On Is Right for You?
Simona Stefani · 5 min read

Both enhancements are offered with the European facial in Frisco, and guests often assume they do the same thing. They do not.
LED: light that works on the cell
LED delivers specific wavelengths into the skin. Red light supports collagen production and reduces inflammation; blue light targets acne-causing bacteria. There is no sensation, no downtime, and results accumulate across a series.
- Best for: redness, breakouts, early fine lines, post-extraction calming
- Feels like: warmth and light, nothing more
Microcurrent: current that works on the muscle
Microcurrent uses low-level electrical current to re-educate facial muscles, producing a visible lift along the jawline, cheekbones and brow. Many guests see the change immediately after the first session, and it builds with repetition.
- Best for: loss of definition, sagging along the jaw, a lifted look for events
- Feels like: a faint tingle, or nothing at all
Which should you book?
If your concern is inflammation, breakouts or redness, choose LED. If your concern is contour and firmness, choose microcurrent. Both are available as add-ons to the European facial, and alternating them across a series works beautifully for skin in its late thirties and beyond.
The Takeaway
LED treats the skin. Microcurrent treats the muscle underneath it. Choose by concern, not by trend.
